Terms of Service

1. Agreement

Using Fro means accepting these terms.

2. Definitions

• Platform: The Fro mobile application and website
• Customer: A person using Fro to book services
• Provider: A person offering services on Fro
• Booking: A transaction between a customer and provider
• Service: Work performed by a provider at a customer's location
• Payment hold: A customer's payment, held through Stripe until the work is confirmed
• Content: Photos, videos, messages, reviews, and other user-generated material

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older with legal capacity to enter into a contract. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

4. Accounts

• One account per person
• @username must be unique
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Fro may reclaim usernames that impersonate

5. Fro's role

Fro is a marketplace and technology platform, not a service provider, employer, agent, or contractor of any Provider. Providers are independent. Fro does not supervise, direct, or control the work. Fro does not guarantee outcome, quality, or availability.

6. Provider obligations

• Accurate listings and pricing
• Hold any licence you claim
• Travel to the customer
• Honour accepted bookings
• Complete Stripe verification
• Keep bookings on-platform

Providers also agree to the Provider Addendum, which forms part of these terms and covers cancellations, payouts, payout fees, and payment processing by Stripe in detail.

7. Customer obligations

• Accurate address and access
• A safe working environment
• Be present or arrange access
• Pay through the Platform

8. Bookings and arrival verification

A booking forms when a customer confirms a time slot offered by a provider. Providers must be available within the windows they publish. A 6-digit arrival code is required for the provider to start the job, confirming they are at the right location with the right customer.

9. Payments and fees

• Authorized when you book
• Captured when a provider accepts
• Held during the work
• Released on your confirmation, or automatically 24 hours after the provider marks the job done
• Platform fee: 20%, added on top of the provider's price
• Booking fee: covers card processing, added at checkout and shown before you pay. Because it is spent when your provider accepts, it is not refunded if you cancel
• Providers are responsible for their own taxes
• All amounts in USD

Payments are processed by Stripe. Fro never receives your full card number; Stripe handles card data under its own privacy policy.

10. Cancellations, refunds, and disputes

Cancelling before a provider accepts releases the hold and you are charged nothing. Cancelling after they accept but before they set out carries no cancellation fee; the booking fee is retained because the payment has already been processed. After they set out a cancellation fee applies, calculated as a share of the service price subject to a minimum and a maximum, deducted from the refund rather than charged separately. A provider who cancels is charged against their earnings, at a rate that increases with how many times they have cancelled in the preceding rolling window and that may affect their placement in search; the customer is refunded in full, including the booking fee. Once work has started neither party can cancel alone: both must agree to call it off, which carries a reduced fee for the customer and no fee or count for the provider. All amounts are disclosed before the cancellation is confirmed. Rates are set by Fro and may change; the rate shown at the time you cancel is the rate applied. Refunds are otherwise processed through the reported-issue system. Fro administers disputes, not as a court but as a neutral party with access to the evidence: location, timing, photos, messages, and ratings.

11. Tips, packages, points, and referrals

• Tips are voluntary and go to the provider
• Packages are prepaid and expire
• Points are a licence to platform features, have no cash value, and are non-refundable
• Affiliate and sales earnings terms available on request

12. Content

You keep ownership of what you upload and grant Fro a licence to host and display it for operating and promoting the Platform. You warrant you have the rights to it.

13. Prohibited conduct

The Community Guidelines set out in full what may not be posted or done on Fro, and form part of these terms. In summary, you may not:

• Post objectionable content: harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, or anything targeting a person or group
• Circumvent the platform by taking bookings off Fro
• Commit fraud
• Harass or discriminate against anyone
• Impersonate another person, business, or Fro
• Misrepresent licences or qualifications
• Scrape the platform
• Interfere with the platform's operation

Fro removes content and suspends or bans accounts for breaches of this section. Reports of objectionable content are reviewed within 24 hours.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Fro and its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to the platform or any service booked through it, even if told such damages were possible. This includes personal injury, property damage, or other loss arising from a service, or from the acts or omissions of any customer or provider.

Fro's total liability for all claims relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to Fro in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100. Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Fro disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Fro does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Services are performed by providers, not by Fro, and Fro makes no guarantee about their quality, safety, timing, or legality, the accuracy of any listing, licence, or review, or the conduct of any customer or provider.

16. Indemnification and release

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fro and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:

• Your use of the platform
• Any service you offer, perform, or receive
• Content you post
• Your breach of these terms or of any law
• Your violation of anyone else's rights

Fro may take over the defence of any such claim, and you will cooperate with it.

Fro is not a party to the agreement between a customer and a provider. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Fro from claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with a dispute between you and another user. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

17. Suspension and termination

Fro may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at any time for violations of these terms or for risk-management purposes.

18. Changes to terms

Fro may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect, and you are asked to accept the new version before you continue using Fro.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. If these terms are translated, the English version governs where the two differ.
